Board version 7.4.1 Release Notes
Upgrade instructions
To upgrade to version 7.4.1, run the server installation program on
the machine where Board Server Board is installed. The client PCs where
Board Client was installed using the Auto-update option will automatically
upgrade at the next connection to the Board Server. The PCs where the
Board Office add-in is installed require to be upgraded by running the
installation program.
Capsules and databases created or modified with version 7.4.1 cannot
be re-opened with version 7.4.0 (or prior).

New Features and changes
- The Print hard copy function now prints
also the screen Mask.
- The Disable
Drill Down property of Dataview and Chart can now be
enabled or disabled only from design mode.
- The function Suggested
Value now allows to clear a value. The calendar function
supporting data-entry of dates now allows to clear a date
previously set.
- The option Format
negative numbers with parentheses of the Entity format
and block format allows represent negative numbers in parentheses
instead of using the minus sign. This option shouldn't be
used on fields where data-entry is enabled.

- It is now possible
to define the size margins when printing a capsule screen
or object. To set margins, open the Print configuration panel
and go to the Advanced
tab as shown.

- When printing
a capsule screen it is now possible to set the DPI resolution.
To set the resolution in DPI, open the Print configuration
panel and go to the Advanced tab (see above). The default
value is 600 DPI. In case large objects are being printed
the system will initially attempt printing with the given
DPI resolution and eventually fall back to 96 DPI in case
of failure.
- ATO object. The
Pager object with ATO, used to insert a new item or edit the
description of an existing one, now uses two different icons
for these functions. Previously a single icon was used.
Miscellaneous Fixes or minor changes
- A malfunction
potentially causing the corruption of an entity occurring
after running a Datareader after having created and immediately
deleted a relationship has been fixed.
- Procedures. A
malfunction in the use of the option "Run as administrator"
on all actions supporting it, has now been resolved.
- The behaviour
of text on a Label object has been modified. Text wrap now
behaves in the same manner does the Button object: Button:
when the label contains a caption and a Layout, the text of
the caption is concatenated with the text returned by the
Layout creating a single line. Previously the cation text
was displayed on a different line.
- Excel Add-in.
A malfunction occurring in MS-Excel, with the Board Add-in,
affecting the Find/replace function of Excel has been resolved.
- Entities. If the
UserView check-box is not ticked for an entity, the entity
is now hidden from the Select, from the drill-down and from
the Layout windows.
- Excel Add-in.
The export to Excel function has been improved in performance.
- Procedures. A
malfunction of the options "Reset selection as administrator"
and "Reset whole selection" has been removed.
- A malfunction
of the Entities definition window which allowed to modify
the Max.Item Number of an entity used by a cube version and
subsequently causing the entity and cube version to be erroneously
cleared has been removed. Note that if an entity is not used
by any cube version which is populated with data, then it
is possible to freely modify the entity's Max.Item number
without having to clear the entity.
- The Insert Row
function of the Dataview has been modified: now if a new row
has been fully configured, triggering the Save data-entry
action simultaneously triggers the insert row making it easier
and more robust to input new data.
- Master. A malfunction
of the Master function occurring on screens with a pager on
an entity parent of the entity in the Master object has been
resolved.
- Word Add-in. An
error in the Word Add-in occurring when one or more Layouts
would return no rows (due to a restricted security profile
for example) has been resolved.
- Excel Add-in.
An error of the Select with refresh function has been resolved.
- BoardClient. Some
improvements to the management of the client's memory have
been implemented.
- Goto screen. A
bug of the "Goto Screen" action used with "Apply
data selection" which was not correctly setting pagers
having the No All option on the destination screen has been
fixed.
- Dataflow on ROLAP
cubes. An error of the Dataflow occurring on cubes of type
ROLAP has been fixed.
- Drill-through.
An error occurring after using the drill-through function
and causing all drill-down windows to close simultaneously
when clicking the close button of the drill-through window
has now been fixed.
- Dataview Block
format. It is now possible to apply a block format on a Dataview
with vertical alignment.
- Print. An out-of-memory
error occasionally occurring when printing a Panel object
with the option "Print as a single object" has been
removed.
- Forecast. An error
in the use of the Forecast function inside a Dataflow calculation
has been removed.
- MXC cubes. An
error affecting cubes of type MXC occurring only with Hybrid
configuration has now been resolved.
- Master Dataview.
A bug of the Dataview used with Master causing an incorrect
format of the date has been fixed.
- Dataview with
Select. An error occurring on screens with multiple Dataviews
with a Master object and with objects having a Layout select,
has been fixed.
- Dataview with
Align Vertical. Multiple fixes, on totals and improved performance
when Show All columns is disabled.
- DataReader. A
malfunction of the Datareader populating cubes of type text
and causing the imported text to become truncated has now
been resolved.
- Xtract BLOB cubes.
A bug in the extraction of BLOB cubes when running in Hybrid
mode has now been resolved.
- Dataflow. A bug
in the Absolute Offset option of the Dataflow has now been
resolved.
- YCV. The Yearly
Cumulative Value function with the use of the Cycle option
can now be applied to cubes structured by Day.
- Extract. An error
of the Extract Layout function occurring on Layouts having
two or more independent entities by row has now been fixed.
