Board version 7.3.1 Release Notes

Upgrade instructions

Board Client version 7.3.1 can connect to a server running Board Server 7.3.1 only, it is therefore required to update all Board Client and Office Add-in installations.

Capsules and databases created or modified with version 7.3.1 cannot be re-opened with version 7.3.0 (or prior).

New features, Bug fixes and other minor changes

DataView

• DataView rendering performance has been improved.
• The total cells for columns holding BLOB Cubes don't display the BLOB icon.
• The use of the "enter" and "tab" keys on data-entry has been modified: pressing the "tab" key moves the cursor to the next cell on the right and pressing the "enter" key moves the cursor to the next row.
• The Grouping and flattening modes can now be combined.
• Dataview: the Row Template (formatted entities) can now be configured to be propagated in drill-down windows. Note that to apply formatting on the entity by row an icon has been added to the ribbon bar, this configuration is no longer positioned in the Layout window's Options tab.
• It is now possible to enable automatic text  wrapping for row the headers and for columns or the Dataview containing text (text cubes or text algorithms). When text wrapping is enabled, the columns width remains fixed and the row height is automatically readjusted to fit the entire text.
• On Dataview with two or more entities by row, an option has been introduced to display the sub-totals on the grouping level also when a group is expanded.

Board Web Client

• Performance of the Board WebServer have been considerably improved.
• An error occurring when clicking the "Info" icon and causing a crash has been resolved.
• An error causing the objects present on the panel container to become larger has been resolved.
• An error on the Dataview object occurring when setting row totals to be aligned to the left has bee resolved.
• The print preview is now generated in a PDF format instead of XPS format.
• The row headers of the Dataview object now support text wrapping.
• The Dataview cells containing text cubes now support text wrapping.
• ATO. The Pager object used to create new entity members and to manage relationships is now supported in the Web client.
• The Save and Undo procedure action is now supported in the Web client.
• Dataview: the Row Template (formatted entities) can now be configured to be propagated in drill-down windows.
• An error occurring on the rendering of images contained on a Dataview has now been fixed.
• An error on Bold or Italic formatting of the Dataview text has now been fixed.
• When the selection of a pager is changed while visualizing the second tab of a folder, after the screen is refreshed the folders no longer rests to the first tab.

Miscellaneous

• An error of the "Refresh Office document" procedure step, occurring on the connect action, has been resolved.
• An error occurring when attempting to open a capsule by double clicking on the file name from Windows Explorer has now been fixed.
• An error occurring when deleting the description of an entity member and causing a crash of the client, has been fixed.
• An error of the data-entry function for ROLAP cubes, caused by the FROM clause, has been fixed.
• Rules: when applying a Rule to a column of a Layout, it is possible to apply the rule on the row totals.
• Rules: an error occurring when applying a rule to two blocks of the Layout combined with a selection on the entity set by row has been resolved.
• Lock&Spread: the size of the Lock&Spread pop-up window now better adjusts to the size of the Dataview.
• Bubblechart: an optional setting has been introduced to allow printing the bubble's tooltips.
• An error occurring when exporting a Capsule screen to a file in RTF format has been fixed.
• The procedure actions "Reset tree" and "Extract layout" are now executed by the server (server-side).
• Chart. It is now possible to set pre-fix and post-fix text on the labels.
• The progress bars of the Selector object are now green only (previously the color was varying from red to green).
• It is now possible to use substitution formulas  in the configuration of the viewer object and in the procedure steps.
• An error occurring when attempting to save a data-entry on an ATO has been fixed.
• Lock aspect ratio: on new screens created with the current version, the aspect ration of screens is by default maintained when the screen is opened on monitors having different resolutions. Capsule screen created with prior versions continue to behave as before. To enable the locking of the aspect ratio on an old screen: open the screen properties, enable the "Lock Size" option, then save the screen, then disable the "Lock Size" option and save the screen again.
• It is now possible to execute two Board Client sessions simultaneously on the same computer: add the following command line parameter when launching Board client /multiinstance.
• An error in the communication between the Board Client and Board Server has been resolved, such error could cause various random malfunctions such as a crash error when attempting to save a Capsule.
• A malfunction making it impossible to disable the ATO option on a container has been resolved.
• A malfunction causing a crash of the Board client program when opening the Layout of a Cockpit object has been resolved.
• An error of the Board Excel Add-in occurring when saving the file and erroneously generating the message "This file has been modified by a user without a Board license" has been resolved.
• A malfunction occurring when exporting to Excel a Dataview having the Day entity across columns has been resolved.
• An error occurring in some circumstances after modifying the description of an entity member through an ATO object and causing a corruption of the entity has been resolved.
• An error of the export to PDF function occurring when used in a Broadcasting procedure with a high number of addressee has been resolved.
• A malfunction of the sorting of dates in Dataview having three or more levels (entities by row) has been resolved.
• A malfunction of the maximise function of the Dynawrite object has been resolved.
• A malfunction of the LDAP authentication occurring when connecting through a browser has been fixed.
• Several minor malfunctions occurring on some data-entry Layouts in the Board Excel Add-in have been fixed.
• It is now possible to export the list of the Board user accounts to a tab delimited file. Click on the Export Users List button found the first tab of the Security window.
• Dataview: when a Dataview object was placed on a container, the buttons to expand/collapse grouping were not accessible.
• Access to the Lock&Spread function has been inhibited on Dataview placed on a container.
• Procedures: the combo-box containing the procedure name has been widened.
• Pager object: an error causing a crash of the client and occasionally occurring while setting NoAll on a Pager before configuring the Pager's entity has bee fixed.
• An error of the Dataflow causing a crash of the Board Server program has been fixed.
• Environment variables can now be used in the configuration of the Xtract action in defining the path or name of the output file.
• An error of the Board Add-in for Excel causing the loss of the Layouts has been resolved.
• An error of the Board Add-in for Excel causing the Filter function of Excel to become inaccessible has been removed.
• It is now possible to open a Dataview with data-entry from the Board Add-in for PowerPoint.
• Connection. While connected to a Board Server, it is now possible to change the user account and connect with a different user without having to close and restart the Board Client.
